Getting to know KinderCrowdControl

master mentalism tricks

Most proud achievement as a band:

Edem: Having our release “Yes” be chosen as #1 on 2 Spotify Playlists. This validated not only our composition, but also our production approach. For KinderCrowdControl Brett and I are of the “reduce” over “produce” school. Our mantra of “all that matters is what you hear coming from your 2 speakers” is working. For instance, the break in “Yes” was recorded on a no-name Spanish inexpensive guitar. Boom, it’s working. We‘re stoked.

Brett: For me, reaching 30,000 Spotify listeners in 3 months was massive.

Favorite Band inspiration:

Edem: Hearing Brett and Sandra exited. This is my band inspiration.

Brett: I wish I could pinpoint a single moment of inspiration, but the fact is that every time we get together we create amazing stuff. There’s truly no limit.

Favorite song right NOW:

Edem: I am loving all our recent releases. “Yes”, “Atomic Tango”, and the upcoming March release “Freeka!” are all phenomenal. Check them out. We’re loving our musical odyssey.

Brett: Every song we create is better than the last. “Yes” is awesome. “Atomic Tango” is amazing. “Freeka!” is extraordinary.

What are you putting first above all else in your career?

Edem: Effort for sure. It’s so crucial to me to record ideas, not just think about them. Music is magical; you’ve got to hear the part in “real time” to understand if it’s working or not. So putting in the time is paramount. Being OPEN is important too. Realizing the song may require a unique approach, and then acting on this, is our working method. For instance, again on our recent release “Yes”, I had recorded my $4k Gibson J200 jumbo for the break. I then decided to record an inexpensive Spanish guitar, which was gifted to me, for comparison. The inexpensive Spanish guitar fits like a glove. BUT I had recorded the J200 first to know the difference.

Brett: For me, it’s about what I can remove. I think too often we create our own barriers which hold us back from our potential to be great. Be an explorer.

Anything exciting happening personally for you?

Edem: Loving life.

Brett: I’m a cancer survivor, so every day is a blessing.

What about professionally?

Edem: Getting recognition on our KinderCrowdControl music. This creates validation as we move forward. Our new releases are so exciting to us, and seem to be resonating with people all over the globe. We couldn’t be happier. Also getting recognition on my fine art and being invited to 2 workshops this year: I just finished participating in the Modesto Almond Blossom Festival, where I was hosted as an artist to visually document the fields in full bloom. My approach was to create my art “riffs” if you will, which are my on-the-spot oil pastels. This approach keeps me in the moment and focuses me on my subject and environment. Keeping it fresh and juicy. Just like a good take in music. Raw, not over produced. You can check out the seven pieces I created here: https://www.edem-art.com/toy-piano-melodies. I have accepted an invitation to participate in an art workshop in Poland in May. First time for me to go to Poland where half my family’s bloodline is from. Can’t wait. I will be keeping IG posts in mind while there for KinderCrowdControl. My art and music are inseparable.

Brett: We’ve been working with the team from BsquaredMGMT who’ve been instrumental in opening new opportunities for us. We are thankful to have them in our corner. As the saying goes, “Rome wasn’t built in one day” to which I’ve added “and neither was it built by a single person” resonates with us. It takes a team, and I think we have a great one.

What is the ultimate goal?

Edem: To lead a good and exciting life and to document the stops along the way with KinderCrowdControl music and my art.

Brett: To keep increasing our fan base.

The ultimate dream for you?

Edem: I’m living it.

Brett: Ditto!
