Kendrick Lamar will headline the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show, the NFL has announced.
The 2025 Super Bowl will take place at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday, February 9th.
“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why,” Lamar said in a statement. “They got the right one.”
JAY-Z, whose Roc Nation curates and co-produces the halftime show, added in his own statement: “Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer. His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”
Lamar previously appeared as a special guest during Dr. Dre’s Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2022, performing a brief medley of “m.A.A.d city” and “Alright.” He also backed Dre on “Forgot About Dre” and “Still D.R.E.”
Lamar hasn’t released an album since Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers in 2022. However, earlier this year he found himself embroiled in a high-profile feud with Drake , leading to a series of diss tracks. Two of these tracks — “Not Like Us” and the Future and Metro Boomin collaboration “Like That” — soared to No. 1 on Billboard, while another, “Euphoria,” reached No. 3.
Usher headlined the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show. The year prior saw Rihanna return to the stage.
