How would you classify your music?

I would classify my music is adult contemporary pop with an occasional retro vibe.  My songs focus heavily on melody.

Who are some of your top 5 musical influences?

Top 5 musical influences: Elton John, Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, Christopher Cross

What do you want fans to take from your music?

I want fans to appreciate the hooks and melodies from my songs.

How’s the music scene in your locale?

Not really sure about the local music.  When I attend concerts in South Florida it’s always a legendary classic rock artist.

When did you know you were destined for music?

I think when I was a teenager, although the songs I wrote at the time weren’t any good.  I didn’t start writing what I felt were decent songs until I was in my late 30s.

What is the best concert you have been to? What do you like most about playing live?

Best concert was Elton John during is 89’-90’ World Tour, mainly for the amazing performance and the setlist. I don’t perform live at the present time.

Is there a song on your latest CD release here that stands out as your personal favorite, and why?  

I’d say “Like An Angel” is my favorite at the moment.  It’s from my latest album Young Man’s Eyes.  I wrote the song after hearing of the untimely passing of a close friend’s sister.  It’s a lovely ballad.

How have you evolved as an artist over the last year?

I think my songwriting, and especially my lyric writing has improved.  I always write the melody first, and have a theme in mind.  Once the melody is worked out, I go to work on the lyrics.

If you could meet, play a gig, co-write a song, have dinner, have a drink with any band or artist (dead or alive) who would it be and why?  

Definitely would be Elton John.  I have learned a great deal about song structure and writing hooks by listening to his music.  And my vocals sound similar to Elton’s mainly because I learned to sing by listening to his records growing up.  I adopted some of his vocal characteristics.

What’s next for you?  

What’s next for me?  More recording, although no plans for a full-length album.  I anticipate releasing singles more frequently.
