After 25 years, Taylor Momsen reunited with her How the Grinch Stole Christmas co-star, Jim Carrey, at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on November 8. When asked about her favorite moments while filming the movie, Momsen told PEOPLE, “I have a lot, honestly.”
The Gossip Girl alum continued, “I just love that he was very protective of me. He was always very kind. And just the entire experience of filming Grinch and getting to know him so well, even in all the makeup, was just wonderful.”
Momsen also admitted that Carrey’s dedication to the craft has left a “powerful, lasting impact” on her as an adult. She added, “And I’m excited to be able to tell him that as a grownup.”
At the event, the two actors shared a sweet moment as they posed for photos together. While the reporters snapped their pictures, Carrey admitted that they hadn’t seen each other since the movie, shocking everyone present.
Directed by Ron Howard, How the Grinch Stole Christmas debuted in 2000. The story centered around the Grinch, played by Jim Carrey, who despises Christmas and decides to ruin the holiday by stealing all the Christmas presents in the fictional land of Whoville. However, Cindy Lou Who still believes there is good in the Grinch and befriends him.
Although the movie was a success, Momsen has largely stayed away from acting. While she made appearances in Spy Kids 2 and Gossip Girl, she has primarily focused on her career in the music industry. Currently, Momsen serves as the frontwoman for Pretty Reckless, a New York City-based rock band.
