Heads of State Post-Credits Scene & Marty’s Fate Explained

Heads of State recently came out, and fans are wondering if the movie ends when the credits roll or if it has a post-credits scene. The action-comedy delivers one last arc change after the main story wraps up, bringing back a fan-favorite character in unexpected fashion. Here’s what happens in the Heads of State post-credits scene and how one character survives his apparent death.

Does Heads of State have a post or mid-credits scene at the end?

Yes, Heads of State includes a post-credits scene that confirms the fate of a fan-favorite character. The film follows U.S. President Will Derringer and British Prime Minister Sam Clarke as they uncover a conspiracy to dismantle NATO. After surviving multiple assassination attempts, they expose the villain’s arms dealer, Viktor Gradov, and Vice President Elizabeth Kirk, who are both killed in the climax.

However, the story doesn’t end there. The post-credits scene reveals that Marty, a quirky field agent who seemingly died earlier, is actually alive.

How does Marty survive Heads of State mid-credits scene?

Marty, played by Jack Quaid, is an eager but unlucky agent who helps Will and Sam escape from Gradov’s mercenaries. In a heroic last stand, he holds off attackers but is shot in the head, appearing to die. However, the Heads of State post-credits scene reveals he survived thanks to a metal plate in his skull, an unexpected shift that leaves the door open for his return.

The scene also shows Marty recounting his near-death experience to Noel, Sam’s love interest, who buys him a drink as thanks for his bravery. This moment not only confirms Marty’s survival but also hints at his potential role in a possible sequel.

Heads of State wraps up its main story neatly, but there are several threads that could lead to a follow-up. The film ends with Will and Sam forming a strong friendship after overcoming their differences. Additionally, Sam rekindles his romance with Noel, setting up possible personal and political strife in a future installment.

For now, Heads of State doesn’t demand a sequel, but it leaves the door open. It’s currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
