It’s no secret that the new year is synonymous with laundry lists of resolutions. For Toronto’s Alder, that includes working towards a more circular fashion industry — but with a literal laundry list! On January 10, the brand will introduce its ReCreate Market, a program that enables customers to bring in their used Alder clothing for credit. The team will then give said items new life by cleaning, repairing, refreshing and upcycling them. Not only does this reduce loads of textile waste, but it offers community members the chance to buy the label’s premium styles at a more accessible price point, knocking 40 to 60 per cent off the original price.
