Cardi B Changed Into 2 Plunging Gowns For Her Second

Cardi B Changed Into 2 Plunging Gowns For Her Second

Though Cardi B wowed everyone on the 2023 Met Gala red carpet in a Chenpeng Studio gown, she actually wore two other looks throughout the course of the night that few public onlookers saw. That’s right: Cardi B wore not one, not two, but three separate looks for the 2023 Met Gala.

Leaving The Mark Hotel before the event even started, she wore a Miss Sohee pink bustier gown with a tulle headpiece that poofed out from behind her like a halo. Though she changed into her widely seen Chenpeng Studio gown before hitting the red carpet, she slipped into a third look once she entered the museum. Inside the event, she donned a pink and black houndstooth gown with a down-to-there neckline. Tailored like a Chanel jacket with pockets and all, that dress was designed by Richard Quinn. With it, she piled on layers of pearl necklaces and oversize pearl and diamond earrings.

Styled by Kollin Carter, Cardi B managed to draw inspiration from several facets of Karl Lagerfeld’s career: the ethereal quality of his most recent Fendi collections; the edgy beauty of his namesake label; and the classic ladylike tailoring of Chanel.

Each look was true to Cardi B’s aesthetic as well. The rapper is certainly one to lean into body-conscious silhouettes and fashion-forward design flourishes: skin-baring cutouts, down-to-there necklines, sculptural details, and sheer materials. As such, she did not disappoint at this year’s Karl Lagerfeld-themed Met Gala, knocking it out of the park with three fashion-centric looks. Keep reading to see them all.
