Kilby didn’t do himself any favors with his tribe during this entire hour. He spread seeds about Devin all over town, but talking smack about Devin to Devin’s biggest allies? Seemed like an odd choice. Kilby also told Patt that playing “Survivor” with Brady was a lot like playing video games with your little brother, only l’il brody’s controller is unplugged. Patt ran right to Brady with this diss, and suffice it to say, his reaction wasn’t positive. (Kilby, man, why are you painting such a huge target on your back?!)
Kilby tried to do a little damage control by having a chat with Devin. “I feel like you don’t like me,” he said to Dev. Kilby then told Devin that Patt, Brady, and Jelly told him that Devin called Kilby a liar, which Devin didn’t buy for a single second. These two remained at odds, which really wound up being the top story at the night’s Tribal Council.
In a miraculous development: THIEN AN CAN SPEAK! (No purple edit here!) We saw her having conversations with Lewis, Carter, and more, discussing how tightly knit Devin, Jelly, Patt, Mike, and Brady were. So after discussing a possible Mike vote, the outliers (Thien An, Lewis, Carter, Maggie, Jenna, and Kilby) decided to instead vote for Patt. But that name couldn’t leave that conversation, they said! Tell no one, they said! So what did Thien An do? She immediately told Brady that it looked like the vote had been switched. Why? The world may never know.
What we don’t see is what Brady does with that information. “There is no way in God’s green Earth that this plan is going to work,” Brady told us. “No disrespect, Thien An, [but] you have absolutely zero pull to make any call in this game.”
And that’s exactly when we, as viewers, should’ve known how this was all going to go down. Maybe Brady didn’t double-check his math — with Lewis joining the tribe and Carter’s mutiny, that gave Toka 11 members, making the majority six, not five — or maybe we didn’t see Carter and Lewis pledging their supposed allegiance to Brady’s core five. Whatever the case may be, Kilby caught five votes at Tribal, but six parchments for Pantsless Patt sent her straight to Ponderosa. And then there were 17.
