Anthony Mackie and Morena Baccarin’s Elevation is now streaming on Hulu. Directed by George Nolfi, the 2024 post-apocalyptic thriller follows a single father who leaves the safety of the mountains to find medicine for his son’s lung disease. The film was released in theaters in the United States on November 8, 2024.
Set in the Rocky Mountains, the film stars Mackie alongside Baccarin, Maddie Hasson, Shauna Earp, Rachel Nicks, and Danny Boyd Jr. Written by John Glenn, Jacob Roman, and Kenny Ryan, the story focuses on survivors trying to stay alive after mysterious creatures kill most of humanity.

Elevation takes place three years after mysterious creatures wipe out most of the world’s population. Known as Reapers, the creatures made areas below 8,000 feet unsafe to live in. As a result, the survivors have moved to high mountain areas where they are safe from the deadly predators. But going below “The Line” puts anyone who makes the journey in danger.
Mackie stars as Will, a single father who lives with his young son, Hunter, in one of the mountain communities. Hunter has a health problem that requires him to use an oxygen concentrator. However, Will eventually runs out of the filters needed to keep the equipment working. Desperate to save his child, Will has to risk his life by traveling below 8,000 feet to find the supplies.
Will’s journey becomes even more complicated when he is joined by Nina (Baccarin), a scientist, and Katie (Hasson). Nina has spent years studying the Reapers and searching for a way to defeat them. Although Will doesn’t trust Nina, her knowledge may help them understand the creatures and find a way to stop them.
As the group travels through the post-apocalyptic Rocky Mountains, they must fight the creatures and search for the medicine Hunter needs. What starts as a determined father’s mission to save his son becomes a fight to save humanity.
