On Tuesday, it was the 27th birthday of actor Timothée Chalame, and his friend and Dune co-star Zendaya had the perfect photo to celebrate him on social media. The Euphoria actress shared a shot from their shoot for Entertainment Tonight‘s cover story featuring their film in October of 2021, but it was a behind-the-scenes image of the pair preparing for their official pics. In the image, Zendaya is looking focused in an orange Mark Fast SS/11 RTW fringe knit bodycon dress and Chalamet is being goofy in the background.
“Happy birthday to this kid,” Zendaya wrote over the image, tagging her friend in her Insta Stories.

The two critically acclaimed actors became good friends while working on Denis Villeneuve’s film, which has multiple parts to be released over the next few years. The movies are based on Frank Herbert’s 1965 sci-fi novel of the same name. While Zendaya’s role in the first installment is fairly small, she becomes a central figure to the story. They both wrapped filming on December 12 of this year, and Part II will be out in November of 2023.
“She’s bringing exactly what she brought to the first one, which was incredible, but in greater abundance,” Chalamet told Variety last month about her expanded importance in the epic tale. “And she’s really become a sister. I’m so grateful to count her as a partner and a sister and a friend, and also to share stories about how amazing it is to work with Luca, because we worked with him back to back on wildly different projects.”
Chalamet celebrated his own his birthday on Instagram as well, sharing a Polaroid of himself as a kid with the caption, “27” and a skeptical looking emoji.
