Izzy Battres landed his own HGTV show, “Izzy Does It,” after spending several years doing contractor work on “Flip or Flop,” which ended after ten seasons. Unfortunately, “Izzy Does It” – which centered on how he and his family ran his home renovation and design business while producing luxury, budget-friendly renos – aired for just a single season, as HGTV didn’t renew it. “It’s not the news we wanted to give, but here it is: there will be no Season 2,” Battres wrote on Instagram in June 2025. So what’s he been up to since?
A representative for Battres has revealed to TVLine that the former HGTV star is currently “focusing on the work and craft that put him on the TV map in the first place, pursuing his architectural license and growing his family businesses, Battres Construction and Battres Home & Design.” They also confirmed that the family is in the process of moving from Santa Ana to Irvine, where they hope to “scale and reach more homeowners.” These expansion plans mean that it’s all hands on deck for the Battres clan.
We’ve learned that Izzy’s brother Rudy (aka Rude Dog) is spearheading a new construction division. The rep also confirmed to TVLine that other family members are taking on new roles. “Looking toward the future, Izzy is priming the next generation of Battres leadership, ensuring the vision seen on HGTV continues to thrive,” they said. “Son Joseph is transitioning from delivery to project management, daughter Brianna is stepping up to lead marketing on a larger scale, and Lilly (his wife) is preparing Celeste, Rudy’s daughter, to head the design department.”

Izzy Battres has credited his success to a man named Sonny Arguinzoni Sr., a pastor who died when “Izzy Does It” was still on the air in 2025. Battres paid tribute to Arguinzoni Sr. after his passing, revealing that he helped him and his brother change the course of their lives. Now, Battres has followed in his footsteps by becoming a pastor himself: His rep told TVLine that he is “on the Victory Outreach Church Pastoral Staff in Huntington Beach and is now a licensed minister.”
According to the church (which opened its Huntington Beach location in 2014), both Izzy Battres and his wife, Lilly, became ministers in June, 2026. “We are grateful to have you as part of the VOHB family and are excited to see all that God has in store for this new season of ministry,” the church said in a statement shared on Instagram. “May the Lord continue to guide your steps, expand your influence, and use your lives to reach many for His Kingdom.”
