“Black Doves” will be landing at Netflix this fall for its sophomore run.
Season 2 of the spy thriller starring Keira Knightley will premiere Thursday, November 5 on the streamer with all six episodes, TVLine has learned. Netflix has also released a trailer for Season 2 — which you can watch above — which finds Knightley’s character Helen now the wife of the U.K. Prime Minister after her husband Wallace is elevated to the post.
In Season 2, “Helen is still betraying her nation’s secrets to the covert organization she serves: the Black Doves,” per the official synposis. “But after the misadventures of last Christmas, and with her husband Wallace preparing to become Prime Minister, she is walking a more treacherous line than ever.”
Joining Knightley in the cast are Ben Whishaw (“A Very English Scandal”) as Helen’s fellow spy Sam, who is “is now reduced to lonely drinks in Soho bars and low-rate hits,” and Sarah Lancashire (“Happy Valley“) as her handler Mrs. Reed, who “is ensnared in a ruthless plot to undermine her position in the Black Doves” in Season 2. “As they search for answers, loyalties are weaponized, trust is shattered, and the fight to protect the people they love could cost everything,” the synopsis adds.

- A new “Family Guy” Halloween special, entitled “Happy Hell-o-ween,” will premiere Monday, October 5 exclusively on Hulu. In the special, “Brian and Stewie find themselves in Hell — not an annoying day, the actual underworld — paying for 24 seasons’ worth of bad behavior. When they manage to annoy even the Devil himself, they end up in charge.”
- Apple TV will unveil two new holiday specials later this year: “Snoopy Presents: 12 Days of Snoopy” will premiere Friday, November 13 on the streamer, with Snoopy learning he’s on Santa’s naughty list and setting “out to prove he’s not such a bad beagle after all”; and “Fraggle Rock: A Holiday Gift” will premiere Friday, December 4, with an appearance from singer and actress Nicole Scherzinger.
- The horror film “Evil Dead Burn,” the latest in the revived “Evil Dead” franchise, will make its streaming debut Friday, October 2 on HBO Max, with a linear premiere on Saturday, October 3 at 8 p.m. on HBO.
