Patagonia has a well-earned reputation in the outdoor world for creating long-lasting, durable, environmentally friendly outdoor gear. It’s not perfect—all gear has some environmental impact— but we’ve used and relied on Patagonia products for long enough that we have no trouble recommending the brand. The deals below are a small selection of its sale, some of which are our favorites, though sizes and colors vary. Check out Patagonia’s site for more.
Be sure to read through our guides to the Best Camping Gear, Best Hiking Gear, Best Camp Stoves, and Best Tents for more great recommendations.

Women’s Nano Puff Hoody
Photograph: Patagonia
Only the Birch White color is on sale. This synthetic-filled puffy is something of an industry standard. This is the hoody version, but there are jackets and vests on sale as well. Don’t let the synthetic trouble you, this thing stuffs down like a feathered jacket and is impressively warm.
Some sizes are out of stock. This lightweight puffy is made from recycled nylon and makes a good shoulder season jacket. Or if winters are more intense where you live, it can double as a midweight layer.
Only two colors are on sale. I love merino T-shirts. They’re warmer than cotton but somehow manage to stay somewhat cool in the summer. They’re also quite windproof, making them a great addition to your layering system. This shirt is a blend of 65 percent merino wool and 35 percent recycled polyester, which gives it a little bit of stretch.
Kids’ Organic Cotton Quilt Pullover

These organic cotton pullovers are comfortable and durable. Also, here’s a pro tip from a smaller friend: A boy’s large is usually close to a women’s XS.
Keep your little ones warm in these one-piece animal-themed buntings made of 100 percent recycled polyester fleece. They feature a full hood, ears, and tail and a chest pocket for storing cracker crumbs.
We have thoughts on cargo pants. This is your chance to do your part to bring them back and save some money too. No seriously, do it.
Pack and Sleeping Bag Deals
Arbor Zip Pack

This is a great-sized pack for heading back to school (er, summer school?). There’s a padded 15-inch laptop sleeve, it’s made of 100 percent recycled polyester with a durable water repellent finish, and there’s quick access to the main compartment.
We have not tested it, but this minimalist 30-liter pack looks good for lighter loads, whether you’re day hiking or heading out overnight in a trail hut system.
This lightweight bag would be good for going ultralight in warmer climates. It only weighs 12 ounces. It can also serve as a liner if you want to extend a three-season bag into the winter.
