Trevor Powers has shared another new Youth Lagoon song, “Prizefighter.” It comes with a video directed by Tyler T. Williams. He’s also announced an extensive North American tour, his first under the Youth Lagoon banner in eight years. It starts in mid-July and continues through mid-October. Check out “Prizefighter” and see the full tour itinerary below.
In February, Trevor Powers released the new song “Idaho Alien,” and announced a new record, Heaven Is a Junkyard, which is out June 9. It arrives nearly eight years after the third Youth Lagoon album, 2015’s Savage Hills Ballroom. Between Youth Lagoon projects, Powers released a pair of solo efforts, beginning with Mulberry Violence in 2018. He issued his second release under his own name, Capricorn, in 2020.
Youth Lagoon’s lengthy North American tour includes a stop at Pitchfork Musical Festival in Chicago on Friday, July 21. The Smile, Big Thief, Bon Iver, and more are scheduled to join the festivities at Union Park from July 21-23. Tickets are still available here.
