Rosalía and Rauw Alejandro have ended their engagement and broken up, People reports. Alejandro confirmed the news in a statement posted on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter) on July 26; Rosalía also confirmed the news in an Instagram story. The musicians had been together for three years, publicly announcing their partnership in September 2021.
During the course of their relationship, the musicians had each worked on new material by the other. Alejandro co-wrote Rosalía’s Motomami song “Chicken Teryaki,” and she joined him on tracks for his 2022 EP Trap Cake, Vol. 2 and his November full-length, Saturno.
Rosalía and Alejandro released a three-song collaborative EP titled RR in March, announcing their engagement upon its release with the video for “Beso.” “After more than three years these three songs are here and each one of them belongs to a different stage of love,” wrote Rosalía in a statement about the EP. In April, Alejandro joined Rosalía on stage during her Coachella performance to perform the songs from RR. The EP also included the song “Vampiros.”
