It was a double dose of Queens this past weekend when Queens of the Stone Age brought their North American tour to Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York. Heavy Consequence photographer Rodrigo Fredes was there to capture the band in action.
As we mentioned when recapping the August 3rd kickoff show in Sterling Heights, Michigan, the outing — dubbed “The End Is Nero Tour” — is QOTSA’s first stateside headlining run in five years.
The 17-song set in Queens featured favorites such as “No One Knows,” “My God Is the Sun,” “Little Sister,” and “Go With the Flow.” At one point, frontman Josh Homme asked fans to pick between “Made to Parade” and “Time & Place,” with the former winning out.
Queens of the Stone Age have since played gigs in Washington, D.C., and Asheville, North Carolina, but were forced to postpone an August 15th show in Raleigh, North Carolina, due to extreme weather. The tour continues Friday night (August 18th) in Atlanta, and runs through early October, with tickets available here.
