A collection of unreleased Karen Dalton recordings are being released in the new album Shuckin’ Sugar. It’s out April 23 on vinyl for Record Store Day, while a CD and digital release will follow on May 6 via Delmore Recording Society.
The album features live recordings from 1963 and 1964, featuring seven solo performances and five duets with her then-husband Richard Tucker. The album’s booklets include unseen and rare photos, plus an essay from journalist and author Kris Needs. The vinyl pressing for Record Store Day is limited to 3,500 copies on “transparent, natural vinyl” pressed at Third Man.
