In an emotional interview, Jelly Roll opened up about the many reasons he felt motivated to lose weight — and one of the most predominant ones, he revealed, was to improve his intimacy with wife Bunnie Xo.
While speaking to Joe Rogan in a podcast episode posted Wednesday (Dec. 10), the country star teared up while discussing how his food addiction and struggles with obesity had strained his relationships with his family. “I’d done nothing but lie to them for years about this weight,” he began, his voice breaking. “I’d never proved to them that I was gonna change.”
“I realized then how much my addiction had been hurting this family,” he continued of the start of his weight-loss journey, through which he’s shed nearly 300 pounds. “How much my sex life with my wife was horrible. Dude, I married a big-tittied, blonde, beautiful woman, dog … and I couldn’t even get aroused, I was so big.”
“I was having to play Twister to have sex,” Jelly joked. “Left foot here, right foot on the X. Are we in there yet? Tell me if you feel something.”
The CMA Award winner has been transparent with fans throughout his weight-loss journey. In 2024, he ran his first-ever 5k, and this past April, he gave an update revealing he’d lost about 200 pounds at that point.
