FaltyDL has announced a new album: A Nurse to My Patience is due out November 11 via his own label, Blueberry Records. Accompanying the announcement, the New York–based producer has shared a new single called “Four Horses,” which features ambient composer Julianna Barwick.
The single arrives with a new music video directed by the New York filmmaker Gabi Rudin. In the visual, FaltyDL (aka Drew Lustman) performs magic tricks for an audience as the video cuts between older and younger versions of the producer’s magician character. Watch below.
“I fell back in love with songwriting on ‘Four Horses’ and feel absolutely blessed to have Julianna Barwick echo my sentiments,” Lustman shared in a statement. “I have been a fan of hers for years and this was truly a dream. I often feel restless and unfulfilled, and this song is me emptying these thoughts, concerns, and traumas across 2:44.”
In addition to Julianna Barwick, A Nurse to My Patience includes guest contributions from Mykki Blanco, Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard, and Interpol’s Paul Banks. The album is the producer’s first FaltyDL studio album since 2016’s Heaven Is for Quitters.
