billy woods & Kenny Segal: Maps [Backwoodz Studioz]
Maps is a new album from New York rapper billy woods and Los Angeles producer Kenny Segal. It’s ostensibly an album about the road. “Neither of us wanted to make Hiding Places 2,” woods said in a statement. “We needed to go on other journeys, artistic and otherwise, to come back and do something fresh.” The album features Danny Brown, Elucid (of Armand Hammer), Samuel T. Herring (of Future Islands), Shabaka Hutchings, Quelle Chris, Aesop Rock, Benjamin Booker, and Shrapknel. Read Pitchfork’s Best New Track review of the single “FaceTime.”
