Summer Game Fest has filled in for E3 over the past few years and was scheduled to come back again in 2023. Now, it has been revealed when exactly that next event will air. Summer Game Fest 2023 will kick off on June 8, 2023 and have world premieres, live gameplay demos, and announcements.

In addition to being streamed, this will all take place in front of a live audience at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California, which hasn’t happened in the previous three shows. Curator and host Geoff Keighley talked about this step in a quick statement.
“Over the past three years, Summer Game Fest has cultivated an incredible community around the world through our digital-first events, and we’re thrilled to invite thousands of fans to experience the SGF show in-person for the first time in 2023,” said Keighley. “In keeping with tradition, we’ll have tons of exciting announcements from the developers that are pushing the games industry forward, and will once again highlight other publisher digital events, demos, and more surprises to be announced in the coming months.”

Tickets will be available in early 2023 at an undetermined time for an undisclosed price. Keighley closed out the 2022 show stating that Summer Game Fest would return for 2023 and have an in-person portion, but didn’t divulge any details. Summer Game Fest 2023 will also be one week before E3 2023, which will run from June 13 to June 16 with various consumer and business days. This Summer Game Fest announcement comes one week before The Game Awards, one of Keighley’s other big annual events.
