Katherine Heigl has quit Hollywood to live in Utah with her husband, in pursuit of a more meaningful existence. The actress recently reflected candidly on parenthood, expressing regret over moments missed during her children’s early years.

So, here are all the details on why Heigl chose to quit the entertainment industry and move to Utah.

Katherine Heigl shares her thoughts on leaving Hollywood

As per the Grey’s Anatomy star, she has found “peace” since she left Hollywood.

In an exclusive interview with E! News, Katherine Heigl gushed over her new life. She revealed, “I have found and carved out this peace for myself and for my family, and it brings me so much joy and contentment and clarity and grounding. And I just think, ‘Why mess with that?’”

Heigl further confessed that she does not wish to “hustle” or be “ambitious.” The actress explained, “Sometimes I ask myself if I should be in the game, if I should be hustling, if I should be more ambitious. And I just think I really don’t want to.” Moreover, Heigl shared that she believes one shouldn’t do something just because “society” expects that from them.

The Ugly Truth actress lives in Utah with her husband, Josh Kelley, and their three kids, Naleigh, Adalaide, and Joshua. In the same interview, Heigl even noted that she is content with her work in the industry and wishes to spend more time with her kids now. She shared, “My children were younger, and though I will always regret so much of the time I missed with them while I was hustling, while I was working, I am grateful to be here now…I just don’t see how I could go off and make a movie for three months or a television series for nine months.”

Katherine Heigl married the pop-turned-country musician Josh Kelley in 2007. The couple chose a small and intimate ceremony that took place at the Stein Eriksen Lodge. She also shared that over the years, Kelley has become her “safe harbor.”

While Heigl may have left Hollywood, her passion is continuing elsewhere. The actress is currently working on developing a pet food brand, Badlands Ranch. This new brand aims to create healthier food options for dogs.

“I’ve been an animal advocate and have had an animal advocacy foundation for the last two and a half decades, so I’m a big animal person,” the 27 Dresses star shared. “I was really excited to be able to create something this unique, something that people can really trust is really good for their pets.”
