Jordan Peele’s Him Trailer Shows Marlon Wayans’ Brutal Football Training

Universal Pictures has released the official Him trailer for producer Jordan Peele‘s newest horror thriller, starring Scary Movie’s Marlon Wayans and former college wide-receiver Tyriq Withers (Atlanta). The movie is slated to arrive in theaters on September 19, 2025.

“The film follows Cameron Cade, a rising-star quarterback who has devoted his life, and identity, to football. On the eve of professional football’s annual scouting Combine, Cam is attacked by an unhinged fan and suffers a potentially career-ending brain trauma,” reads the official synopsis. “Just when all seems lost, Cam receives a lifeline when his hero, Isaiah White, a legendary eight-time Championship quarterback and cultural megastar, offers to train Cam at Isaiah’s isolated compound that he shares with his celebrity influencer wife, Elsie White. But as Cam’s training accelerates, Isaiah’s charisma begins to curdle into something darker, sending his protégé down a disorienting rabbit hole that may cost him more than he ever bargained for.”

What happens in the Him trailer?

The trailer introduces Withers as a rising football star who gets a chance to train with a legendary athlete whom he idolizes the most. However, he’ll soon realized why it’s better to never meet your heroes. The video highlights the unorthodox and brutal training method of Wayans’ character, as he tries to push the limits of his players in order to attain the level of greatness he believes in.

Him is directed by Justin Tipping from a screenplay written by Limetown creators Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie. The cast also includes Julia Fox, Tim Heidecker, Jim Jefferies, Guapdad 4000 and Tierra Whack. The horror thriller is produced by Ian Cooper, Jordan Peele, Win Rosenfeld, and Jamal M. Watson for Monkeypaw Productions, with David Kern and Kate Oh serving as executive producers.
