James Gunn has been promoting the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on his social media profiles for some time now, and though some fans may find it strange, he doesn’t plan on stopping.
Taking to Twitter recently, Gunn replied to a fan who joked about one of the heads of DC Studios promoting a Marvel film. Gunn took exception to the comment, saying that he spent the last 12 years of his life making the Guardians of the Galaxy movies and that they meant the world to him. He also noted that when he went to DC, everyone there knew he would still be promoting the third film and supported it.
Damn straight. And as I’ve said many times I’ve spent the last twelve years of my life creating the Guardians films. They mean the world to me. And when I came to DC everyone at WBD knew & expected & supported that I’d be promoting our final film 100% when it was released.

Gunn also asked what type of person he would be if were to go to DC and completely turn his back on the third Guardians film. The director noted that it would be awful to not only himself, but the people who were a part of the film and invested themselves in it.
Imagine what an awful person I’d be if I went to DC and turned my back on my own film, the people who invested in it, and the friends I created it with.

“In Marvel Studios‘ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days,” reads the synopsis. “Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is once again written and directed by James Gunn. MCU vets Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Sean Gunn, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel are reprising their respective roles as Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Kraglin, Nebula, Mantis, Rocket, and Groot. The sequel also includes the introduction of franchise newcomers Will Poulter, Chukwudi Iwuji, and Maria Bakalova, who play the roles of Adam Warlock, the High Evolutionary, and Cosmo the Spacedog.
