Brothers Have Left Romania for the US — Report

Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate have reportedly left Romania for the United States after authorities lifted their travel restrictions. The brothers, who have been under investigation for serious criminal charges, had been barred from leaving the country for months. Their sudden departure has sparked controversy.

Here is everything to know about it.

Andrew and Tristan Tate allowed to leave Romania amid legal cases, claims report

The Tate brothers, Andrew and Tristan, have left Romania for the United States after their travel ban was lifted, despite facing ongoing legal cases. The controversial influencers were allowed to depart on a private jet following approval from Romanian authorities. Prosecutors confirmed that the restriction on international travel has been removed. However, the brothers are still required to report to authorities and are expected to return, likely for a court hearing in March.

The decision has drawn sharp criticism from four women who accused Andrew Tate of sexual abuse. In a joint statement, they expressed their “disbelief” and distress, fearing that his release would lead to further harassment and intimidation. Their lawyer, Matthew Jury, has condemned the move. Jury accused the Trump administration of “interfering” in the legal process in Romania. (via BBC)

Andrew and Tristan Tate were initially arrested in late 2022 in Romania on charges of human trafficking, rape, and forming an organized crime group to exploit women. The allegations also include trafficking of minors and money laundering. The brothers have denied all charges. They had been under house arrest before restrictions were gradually eased.

The Financial Times reported citing people familiar with the matter that U.S. officials, including Trump’s special envoy Richard Grenell, discussed the Tate case with Romanian authorities during a recent security conference.

However, Romanian officials indicated there was no pressure. A spokesperson said, “Romanian courts are independent and operate based on the law, there is due process.”
