Selena Gomez is officially in New York City, preparing for her Saturday Night Live hosting debut this weekend. Paparazzi captured a glimpse of the singer’s street style last night when she left a SNL cast dinner, perfectly dressed for a mid-spring night in a leather coat, striped white sweater, and black pants. Gomez wore her hair up in a ponytail and accessorized with thick gold hoop earrings from Jenny Bird, available for purchase below.

Gomez announced the news of her hosting SNL on her Instagram May 6. “Mom…I think I’ve made it so grateful and so excited. See you May 14!!!” Gomez wrote. She will be joined by musical guest Post Malone.

Gomez spoke to Good Morning America last month about her decision to quit social media over four years ago.“I haven’t been on the internet in four and a half years,” she started. “It has changed my life completely. I am happier, I am more present, I connect more with people. It makes me feel normal.”
In October, Gomez expanded more on leaving Instagram to WWD’s Beauty Inc (her assistant posts to her account for her). “To be honest, I was just, like, ‘This is too much information,’” Gomez said of the moment she knew she needed to personally get off the platform. “This is too much of my personal life spread out everywhere, and it just felt uncontrollable. I felt like my thoughts and everything I was consuming revolved around a million different other people in the world saying good things and bad things. And I just thought, ‘Why would I—I don’t get anything from it. Nothing is giving me life.’ And I just snapped, and I was over it. I wanted to delete it altogether, but my team was smart enough to convince me not to. But I’m happy I didn’t, because it is such a wonderful way to stay connected, and when I do go on, it makes me happy to know that I’m just being completely honest and being true to who I am.”
