Olivia Culpo’s Cannes Gown Includes a Plunging Chest Cutout

Olivia Culpo brought the cutout trend to the 76th Cannes Film Festival red carpet. At the May 23 premiere of “Asteroid City,” Culpo sparkled in a Miss Sohee gown featuring a prominent, plunging chest cutout. Aside from the dramatic diamond shape, the rest of the bodice was fairly minimal, replete with long midnight navy velvet sleeves, a high neckline, and a border of silver and blue crystals sprinkled where her periwinkle skirt began. The gown then blossomed into a mermaid shape of bright pleats that expanded around the model and swept the floor behind her. “There’s no better feeling than taking off a skin-tight dress,” Culpo said in an Instagram Story at the end of the night. “Freedom!”

Styled by Micaela Erlanger, Culpo completed her cutout couture with jewelry from Bulgari, letting her new engagement ring from fiancé Christian McCaffery shine against her dress. She pulled her hair back into a sleek chignon to keep the focus on the gown, matching the rest of her glam to the color palette of her outfit with smokey purple eye makeup by Sir John.

Standing out on the red carpet seemed almost effortless for Culpo, but since getting engaged, she’s said that designing a wedding dress has proven to be much more difficult than selecting an event-worthy gown. “It’s hard because with the dress, I have so many ideas — so many things I’m really excited about,” she told E! News earlier this month. “I want to show Christian, but he’s like, ‘No, I can’t see. Don’t show me because it needs to be a surprise!'”

Read on to see how Culpo stunned at Cannes from all angles, as we await the reveal of further wedding planning details.
