Kate Middleton Wears Spring Green Dress Suit to Wimbledon

On Saturday, Kate Middleton attended the women’s singles final at the All England Lawn and Tennis Club for Wimbledon dressed in fresh spring green. The Princess of Wales was in one of her favorite designers, Self-Portrait, posing in a blazer and matching skirt. The top was short-sleeved with a belt cinching in her waist, while the long skirt was a loose cut with pleats, swirling around her ankles.

She paired the outfit with an Emmy London clutch bag and nude-colored Gianvito Rossi slingback mules. For her other accessories, she wore Victoria Beckham sunglasses, a pair of Cassandra Goad, earrings and a Halcyon Days gold bangle.

The Princess’s hair was swept up halfway and then drifted down her back in gentle waves. She was wearing her usual natural makeup palette and a light pink lip.

The winner of the game was 24-year-old Marketa Vondrousova, playing against Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur, taking home the Venus Rosewater Dish and £2.35 million. The Czech player is the first to win the title after entering the competition unseeded.

Middleton’s flower-shaped pearl cluster earrings have a special meaning in her family. She last wore them in July of 2018 during Prince Louis’ baptismal at the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace. The jewelry is very similar to late Queen Elizabeth’s favorites, her Queen Mary’s Floret earrings.

It was recently reported that Middleton’s voice was very important in the response to the incendiary interview conducted by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with Oprah Winfrey in 2021. Author Valentine Low wrote in his new book Courtiers that she was influential when the royal family was coming up with a statement about the Sussex’s allegations of racism and harassment within the royal family.

“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” it said at the time. “The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately… Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”

An insider told Low, “It had a much milder version… The debate was, do your rise entirely above it and offer the olive branch of (Harry and Meghan being) ‘much loved members of the family’? Or is there some moment when you have to intervene and offer a view?”

The Waleses want something more definitive.

“They wanted it toughened up a bit,” the insider explained. “They were both of one mind that we needed something that said that the institution did not accept a lot of what had been said.”
