Why: And just like that, Sarah Jessica Parker is putting down roots in the West Village, specifically with a new flagship boutique at the corner of Bleecker and Perry, not-so-coincidentally around the corner from Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment featured on Sex and the City. The all-pink store, co-designed by Parker and designer Eric Hughes, features plush carpeting and ’70s-inspired details, like light fixtures, and, of course, walls of shoes. At the opening, Parker herself was seen vacuuming and helping customers try on shoes.
