As a fashion editor, I’m always on the look out for those special pieces that truly make your wardrobe work harder. You know, those easy to wear classics you can turn to on any given morning and feel 100% confident in. Usually the sweet spot is somewhere between making you feel polished but still comfortable, like the perfect wide-leg trouser for example, or a chic knit dress. Sometimes, these items require a bit more of an investment, especially when you want guaranteed quality that will last for many seasons to come. Brands like Frankie Shop, Totême, or even The Row are overflowing with these kinds of wardrobe heroes. But realistically, we can’t all afford to fill our entire wardrobes with investment pieces, and so a huge part of my day to day job here at Who What Wear is focused on pinpointing those expensive-looking, hard-working pieces on the high street.
