Gigi Hadid and Leonardo DiCaprio’s relationship status has recently been debated by sources. One claimed to Daily Mail that there is nothing happening romantically, while others told Page Six and Us Weekly that the pair as still dating. So, what’s really going on?
After Hadid and DiCaprio were seen spending time together at two parties in the Hamptons during Fourth of July weekend, a source has now claimed to Us Weekly that DiCaprio and Hadid are on, exclusive, and may even become a more serious couple eventually.
“They’re only seeing each other right now,” Us‘ source said. “It’s [still] casual, and they aren’t labeling it, [but] they’re dating [again]. Leo wants to take it slower with Gigi because there’s potential there, and he wants to preserve it.”
The report comes after another source told Us in June that Hadid and DiCaprio were in a “no-strings ‘situationship,’” because “[they] travel so often so it’s best for them to keep their relationship open and fluid. Neither one of them wants to settle down at the moment.”
However, a source objected to this characterization of DiCaprio, telling Daily Mail on June 27 that he and Hadid just didn’t have a romantic spark. “They tried dating some time ago to see if there could be anything there, but there just wasn’t,” the source said. “They are friends and have been for so long, but they are not in an open relationship with no-strings-attached. People just need to let this go. That is not how Leonardo handles relationships. This makes him sound cheap and that he is not. When he is with someone, he is with them. He enjoys his friendship with Gigi and that is that.”
Neither Hadid nor DiCaprio have commented on their relationship status since dating rumors between them started last September.
