Dakota Johnson Channeled the ’70s in Flares and a Blue

Like Jennifer Lopez on May 5, Dakota Johnson evoked the ’70s with her latest Santa Monica street style look earlier this week. Johnson went for a more casual look compared to Lopez’s diva fringe white coat, skirt, and sweater ensemble.

Johnson wore blue high-waisted, flared jeans with a matching long-sleeved T-shirt for guitar company CF Martin and Company, per Daily Mail. She completed the outfit with a black mask, gold-rimmed sunglasses, Gucci loafers, and a statement red bag.

Johnson gave another glimpse of her off-duty style while out in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood on May 5. Johnson paired a camel colored suede coat with a white T-shirt, dark denim, and her Gucci loafers. She wore her hair down straight with a white baseball cap.

Johnson was in New York for the Met Gala, where she wore a sheer fringed Gucci jumpsuit on the red carpet with a ruby robe by the fashion house.

Johnson spoke to ELLE UK earlier this year about how surreal it is dressing for red carpet events because of her work as an actress. “To go out into the world, do hair and make-up and wear an outfit to look a certain way, it’s super jarring,” she said. “So to wear clothes in which I feel like myself is vital. I feel like Ok this is a version of me.” Johnson frequently wears Gucci to events, and the brand is a go-to street style choice for her, too. The day after the Met Gala, she was photographed in a statement green blazer from Gucci.
