For mysteries, there’s the sixth Tita Rosie’s Kitchen Mysteries book (Death and Dinuguan) by Mia P. Manansala, and the more interactive Murder Among the Stacks by Rosie A. Point.

And, romantasy readers will surely get their life through Hollow, the latest from Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti, the duo responsible for the mega bestselling Zodiac Academy series.

Now for the new releases below—they have everything from domestic horror (one set in D.C. suburbs, the other in a Spanish colonial manor in the Philippines) to a Faustian witch/demon queer romance, to an intern who writes messy fanfics about her coworkers.

Margo Miyake wants the next step in her life now: the perfect house and to have a baby with her husband. When she hears about a house that will soon go on the market, she thinks it’s totally natural to befriend the couple with the hopes of getting them to sell to her before listing the house. The problem? The couple figures out what she’s up to and “unfriends” her. While Margo’s husband is ashamed, she is not. Instead, she sets her sights on revenge… —Jamie Canaves

From the bestselling author of Beasts of a Little Land comes a collection of stories that looks at humans and their relationship with the natural world. Ten stories jump from different places and times to give views on our broken world. A near-future Seoul has air pollution that is so bad that the city is encased in a biodome; a disenchanted New York City painter goes to France and finds a romance and maybe even a whole new color; and a boy struggling to survive on the landfill island he calls home becomes famous for K-pop inspired dances.

The Villa, Once Beloved is a gothic horror novel set in a Spanish colonial manor in the Philippines. After the death of his grandfather, Adrian invites his college girlfriend to join him at Villa Sepulveda for the funeral. Sophie is a transracial adoptee who grew up disconnected from her Filipino heritage, so this trip is not only an opportunity to learn more about Adrian’s family but also about herself. But when a landslide traps everyone together in the villa, dark family secrets and hidden resentments emerge. —Emily Martin

I love a good slightly messy girl finds her way type of story, and Supersaurio is giving just that, but like, grocery store edition. Meryem is our slightly messy girl, with her overindulgence of coffee and her habit of dating scary men and not saying what she really thinks. She works as an intern at a big chain supermarket, hates her boss (the feeling is mutual), and thinks her coworkers are super boring. So, naturally, she starts writing fanfiction about them in which they are having lurid affairs.

    100% would befriend this girl.

A witch and a demon are reunited by a Faustian bargain in every lifetime in this queer romantasy. To get out of her wretched, cursed life, Cybil Harding makes a deal with demon Miriam Richter: she can have Cybil’s soul in return for reincarnation. And in every life, Miriam is there to claim her reward, drawing them closer together each time Cybil is reborn. —Liberty Hardy

Mexico: A 500-YEAR HISTORY by Paul Gillingham

There are so many books coming out each week that I don’t always get to highlight them on their particular release date, but this 700-plus page history of Mexico is definitely something to know about. In it, prize-winning historian Paul Gillingham details how the year 1511 set life in the Americas—and the world at large—on a totally new trajectory. A shipwreck of Spanish sailors led to later conquerors witnessing Tenochtitlán, the biggest and most sophisticated city they’d ever seen, and being introduced to things like chocolate and tomatoes, while Mexicans got horses…and lethal germs.
