Never Alone! by Arch/Dr. Winnie Nnakwe
“Never Alone provides solid advice for anyone thinking about furthering their education, providing a beacon of hope and inspiring not only young girls, but everyone, to be strong and rise to amazing heights.”
In the modern day, when misinformation seems to spread across the globe like wildfire, education and literacy have never been so important. This point is proven in Arch/Dr. Winnie Nnakwe’s gripping memoir, Never Alone: Inspiring Through Literacy and Education.
Never Alone follows the true story of Glory (the fictitious name of the author), who demonstrates her ability to achieve anything she sets her mind to not only due to her incredible drive and talent, but also thanks to the enduring love and guidance of God.
From Nigerian Roots to Global Influence
Born in Nigeria to a prosperous family, Glory was encouraged to pursue education by her successful father and the mother figures in her life (including two older sisters). She attended a prestigious school where she excelled not only academically, but also socially and athletically.
Glory was a natural born leader who many students looked up to. She discovered early on in her education that she enjoyed helping other students grasp academic concepts, and started tutoring regularly. After immigrating to the United States as a young adult to attend college, Glory went on to receive multiple degrees, including a doctorate in architecture.
She went on to prosper not only in her career, but in her personal life as well, finding endless fulfillment in her budding family and in her humanitarian work on medical missions to Nigeria. Though she excelled in her career as an architect in NYC, Glory eventually returned to her passion, education, and became a math teacher and business technology educator, where she had a profound impact on many of her students.
Lifting Others Through Knowledge and Action
Throughout Never Alone, the author recalls those who supported her along her journey and the friends she made. The story reveals the struggles Glory faced throughout her life, from primary school through her days as a working mother — particularly the struggles she and others faced due to sexism and racism.
But Glory always persevered to reach new heights — often crediting God for his guiding hand. As a born leader, Glory always made sure to help those around her rise up as well — an endeavor she continues in the creation of this book. Because when one person rises, so does society.
This book is about investing in you, the individual, and building you up, because when you do, you gain, society gains, and humanity gains.
Inspiring Generations to Rise
Winnie Nnakwe’s riveting memoir is sure to inspire as she reiterates the importance of education, particularly math and literacy, in everyone’s everyday life. Laying out her own life story — and the stories of those she helped along the way — as proof of how far education can take a person.
Glory’s story reveals a unique yet universal story that’s sure to touch everyone — the story of someone trying to better their life, and the hands that guided her along the way. Never Alone provides solid advice for anyone thinking about furthering their education, providing a beacon of hope and inspiring not only young girls, but everyone, to be strong and rise to amazing heights.
