  • The most wonderful (and stressful) time of year is back: Goodreads Choice Awards season! As part of our annual tradition, two BookTrib editors predict the winners. Let’s see how successful we are this year!

  • Write Christmas (Vesuvian Books) by Thommy Hutson is a wonderful, heart-warming holiday novel that’s both intricate and well-written.

It’s that time of year again, where the best book lists are being released. The New York Times unveiled its list of the 10 best books of 2022 recently, and we love the picks! With titles by Hernan Diaz, Jennifer Egan, Ed Yong, Claire-Louise Bennett, Barbara Kingsolver, Namwali Serpell, Linda Villarosa, Fintan O’Toole, Rachel Aviv, and Hua Hsu making the cut.

Ron DeSantis will tell the story of his life and career in a new memoir, titled The Courage To Be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival, next year with Broadside Books.

Deadline reported that Hayley Krischer’s The Falling Girls is headed to the small screen. What’s more, the series will be written by Chloe Stearns (Struggling Servers) and John Wynn (the podcast Last Known Position). In other books-to-screen news, Variety reported that John Katzenbach’s Just Cause is also headed to the small screen with Scarlett Johansson set to lead the cast!

This week, we also have some books-to-stage news! The Guardian reported that James Norton will star in a London stage adaptation of Hanya Yanagihara’s A Little Life. Prepare to be emotionally destroyed …

It’s always such a pleasure reporting award news. This week, Jacinda Townsend has won the Ernest J. Gaines Award for Literary Excellence for her novel Mother Country.
