Readers who couldn’t see Michelle Obama on her last book tour will have the chance to experience it via podcast. The former First Lady announced via Instagram that The Light Podcast will launch on March 7.
COLLEEN HOOVER BESTSELLER HEADS TO BIG SCREEN:
Deadline reported that Colleen Hoover’s popular novel It Ends With Us is heading to the big screen and that Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni are set to star in the film adaptation. The film is in development with Wayfarer Studios and Sony Pictures.
MERYL STREEP TO NARRATE NEW ANN PATCHETT NOVEL:
Ann Patchett announced via Twitter that she has a new novel, titled Tom Lake, which will be released on August 8, and that Meryl Streep will be narrating the audiobook version.
KERRY WASHINGTON TO RELEASE MEMOIR:
Little, Brown Spark will publish actor Kerry Washington’s memoir, Thicker Than Water on September 26. The actor is best known for her roles in Scandal and Little Fires Everywhere.

Publisher Shinchosha announced that Haruki Murakami, the celebrated Japanese author, will release his first novel in six years on April 13. The book is expected to be published in Japanese, with translations following, but so far neither the title or details of the plot has been released.
