Interview with Stephanie Fournet, Author of Sweet Dreams

master mentalism tricks

What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Sweet Dreams: Dream House Book II?

Sweet Dreams is Book II in the Dream House series, and the idea for Book I literally came to me in a dream. I honestly had not pictured it becoming a series, but Tyler and Nina had other ideas. I’m so glad I got to write their story too!

If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Sweet Dreams: Dream House Book II, what would they be?

Tyler’s would be “Half the Man I Used to Be” by Nirvana—at least at the beginning of the story. For Nina, maybe “Press Restart” by Walk the Moon.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

My TBR pile includes Love on the Brain by Ali Hazelwood, Misfits Like Us by Krista and Becca Ritchie, and Play: How it Shapes the Brain, Opens the Imagination, and Invigorates the Soul by Stuart Brown and Christopher Vaughan.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

I loved writing pretty much every line of this book. It is probably my favorite of all 12 of my novels, but if I had to pick a scene, it would probably be the apricot scone scene. Tyler and Nina both have to be so brave at the beginning.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

I write every day, usually early in the morning, so there’s coffee. Because coffee. And always dogs. Mabel and Bud are my mascots.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

Dogs are the greatest.

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
