What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write The Secret of God’s Banker?
I was originally going to write a different story as book 3 in the Aiden Leonardo series, but when I saw a documentary about the murder of God’s Banker in the early 1980s, and how it remains an unsolved murder, a new story began to formulate in my mind. Before I knew it, this story quickly became a great segue connecting book 2 (The Secret of Scripture) to what will now be book 4 in the series (The Secret of Religion).
What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
My preferences are mystery, fantasy, romance, and poetry for both reading and writing, so I write in all of those genres totaling 13 published books with two more currently in the query stage.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
What books aren’t?! The conundrum for me is that I read multiple books at a time and jump from one to the other at any given moment. Probably something to do with my ADHD!
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
The big reveal at the Baha’i Temple, because I actually went there to get a feel for the environment and stayed there for a few hours one Sunday afternoon to take it all in, and then finding the words to present it to my readers.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
I have to sit on the same spot on the couch with my laptop, notebooks, and caffeine in the mornings, or a scotch in the evenings.
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
“Your life is your story. Take it one word at a time, one page at a time, and you’ll eventually write your happily ever always.”
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
Remember that all I am doing is presenting you with a lens through which you may see different perspectives about life, love, and faith.
