On average, students experience an estimated total of 102 alcohol-related consequences, such as blacking out, being hung over, or missing work or school, due to drinking across their four years in college, according to a new study led by Penn State. I love autumn. As summer comes to a close, the mere mention of browning leaves and creamy hot cocoa is enough to send me rummaging through my wardrobe to rediscover all my cosy cold-weather clothes. Goodbye, cotton dresses and strappy sandals. Christmas time is supposed to be about coming together with loved ones, giving back, and lighthearted movies with a message. But if you’re naughty and lamenting the passing of Halloween, you can be a Grinch and watch some special holiday horror movies instead. That’s because Christmas is also about commercialism, lying, and pretending, and these flicks deconstruct those themes as well, with lessons of their own. Cynicism aside, the choices below…

And this stillness, to me, is the perfect atmosphere for curling up with a stack of books and some tea, and having a cozy day all to myself. This year, let’s make Christmas — or any of the…
