ComingSoon is excited to debut the Money by Sundown trailer for the new kidnapping movie from One Tree Entertainment prior to its Digital release later this month. The Southern dark comedy movie is full of twists and will make its world premiere at the Rome International Film Festival in Rome, Georgia, on Saturday, November 7 at noon.
“What do you do when your teenage daughter is kidnapped, the ransom demand is impossible to pay, and the only person who can help is your lying cheating, ex-husband you were hoping never to rely on again?” says the official synopsis. “Meet Tripp Holliday. He’s charismatic, reckless, and always convinced he has a plan. For Jessamine Holliday, he’s also the last person she wants to call. But with their daughter missing and kidnappers demanding $80,000 by sundown, desperation leaves little room for pride. With every new solution creating an even bigger problem, the pair find themselves navigating a wild mix of suspense, dark comedy, and family dysfunction, proving that sometimes the people who drive us crazy are also the people we need most.”

Who is in the Money by Sundown trailer?
The dark comedy movie stars Claire Bronson (Mr Mercedes, Bandit, Greenland) and Burgess Jenkins (Blue Ridge: The Series, The Girl Who Believed in Miracles, The Young & the Restless, One Tree Hill). Written and directed by Geoffrey Gunn, it also features Chapel Oaks, Matt Servitto and Brian Ashton Smith.
“Having lived and worked in the South for over a decade, I wanted to make a film that captured the place I knew, rather than the parody we often see on screen,” said Gunn. “I also wanted to tell a fun story about larger-than-life schemers and dreamers, characters close to my heart as an artist. The end result is a bit of a tall tale, but as I’ve come to learn, all good Southern stories are.”
Money by Sundown will be available to rent and purchase on Digital on November 17, 2026.
