A hilarious actor from The Big Bang Theory has been added to the cast of Gorilla Grodd and Jimmy Olsen‘s upcoming DCU TV show. The comedy series is a Superman spinoff show.
According to Deadline, Sara Gilbert is joining to play an “important journalist” in HBO Max’s The People vs. Gorilla Grodd. She is well known for her role as Leslie Winkle in The Big Bang Theory. Some of Gilbert’s other notable credits include Roseanne, Will & Grace, Bad Teacher, The Comeback, and more. She earned a couple of Emmy nominations for her role as Darlene Conner in Roseanne.
Additionally, Gilbert clinched an Independent Spirit Award nomination in the supporting actress category for Poison Ivy. She also executive produced The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh with Michael Showalter. The 51-year-old is represented by Gersh and Entertainment 360.

The People v. Gorilla Grodd, although it takes place in the fictional world of Superman, will be presented as a true-crime docu-series. The plot would revolve around Gorilla Grodd, a highly intelligent gorilla and the son of the King of Gorilla City. In the narrative, Gorilla Grodd is accused of killing his own father and is convicted of the same.
Jimmy Olsen, who works for the Daily Planet, decides to investigate the matter and reopens the case. Olsen begins to question whether Grodd was truly guilty. The eight-episode series will then unravel Olsen’s investigation of the famous case.
While Sara Glibert is joining the cast, other Superman actors are also part of the project. The cast includes Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, and Wendell Pierce as Perry White. Mary Holland, Eduardo Franco, Dan Perrault, Arian Moayed, Andrew Leeds, and Tim Baltz are the other stars in the TV show.
