Meet Dyson’s New Robot Vacuum Line: The Dyson Nurovi Line (2026)

Meet Dyson’s New Robot Vacuum Line: The Dyson Nurovi Line (2026)

Around this time of year, new products launch left and right. I wrote similar words just yesterday ahead of Boox launching its latest devices. And now, Dyson, one of the big names in vacuum cleaners, just launched three innovative products.

Dyson already announced several new products earlier in September, from vacuums to an electric toothbrush with a built-in camera. Some of those vacuums are now available to buy, specifically the three robot vacuums in the new Dyson Nurovi line: the Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry ($550), the Dyson R2 Nurovi Wash + Dry ($700), and the Dyson R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV ($1,200).

This robot vacuum line has a new look, but the technology has changed too. All three Nurovi models share a light gray color scheme that makes the base station and vacuum easy to distinguish from the Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai, but the base stations keep the canister-style compartments that make these vacuums look and feel distinctly Dyson. They also feature lidar laser-precision navigation—Dyson’s last robot vacuum relied on an HD camera—and the most expensive model now uses a UV light to help find stains on your floors. Finally, they have what Dyson calls a Twin-Capture System to pick up dust and debris on both hard floors and carpets. The cheapest R1 model is a vacuum only, while the R2 and R3 are both vacuum-mop hybrids. But the R2 will only be available at Costco, while the R1 and R3 will be available on Dyson’s website (and presumably at other retailers).

Here’s a look at the three new robot vacuums. I’ll be testing these soon to see how they measure up against similar vacuums, but a few features already intrigue me.

The Nurovi R1 is a vacuum-only robot, but like its siblings, it uses lidar to navigate and features the Twin-Capture tech. It promises a much better experience than what we had with the Dyson Vis Nav from a few years ago. It’s an interesting option if you have mostly carpet and soft flooring that doesn’t need a mop job, but I’m curious to see how it compares, since you can find other vacuums for this price that do both.
