Tom Hiddleston Nearly Spills Loki’s Fate in Avengers: Doomsday

Tom Hiddleston may have dropped a major hint about Loki’s fate in Avengers: Doomsday. The actor is set to reprise his iconic role in the MCU’s highly anticipated movie this December.

During Hiddleston’s recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, host Josh Horowitz noted that Loki and Patrick Stewart’s Professor X both have died three times throughout the Marvel movies. The actor counted off each of the deaths, beginning with the ending of Thor, along with Dark World and Infinity War.

The Loki star then made an eyebrow-raising remark, saying, “Look, if I keep going down the path of the end of this sentence, I will find myself revealing things that… I’m not, I’m going to stop. I have to stop.” The comment has fuelled speculation that Loki could die once again in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.

Ahead of Doomsday’s highly anticipated release, rumors about Loki’s fate have been abuzz in the fandom. With Hiddleston’s recent cryptic remark, it appears that the God of Mischief could once again face a tragic end. However, plot details of the film continue to remain under wraps. So, whether Loki makes it out alive by the end of Doomsday remains to be seen.

The latest Avengers: Doomsday news ahead of its December release

Most recently, Avengers: Doomsday’s domestic ticket pre-sales have already crossed $50 million three months ahead of its theatrical release. The movie hits the big screen on December 18, 2026, with audiences preferring premium viewing formats. Disney has further confirmed that 70% of advance ticket sales are going to Infinity Vision tickets (via Variety).

Meanwhile, box office projections for Doomsday are already looking promising, with many predicting that it will be the highest-grossing film of 2026. The title is currently held by another MCU movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Doomsday features a large ensemble cast, featuring the Avengers’ epic team-up with the Wakandans, New Avengers, Fantastic Four, and the X-Men to face Doctor Doom. Returning MCU stars include Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Florence Pugh, and Paul Rudd, to name only a few.
