Kamu Evicted — Season 28, Week 6 Results

Angela and Haley on Big Brother 28
    CBS

There’s no better “Big Brother” than messy “Big Brother,” is there?

It’s all well and good when things go smoothly, and the Head of Household takes out their target, and it’s a unanimous vote, and yadda yadda yadda. But give us the mess! Give us Keesha’s birthday! Give us Ragan reading Rachel to filth! Give us Mike Boogie’s iconic goodbye messages!

The summer is simply a blast when things in the “BB” house erupt into chaos, which is exactly what happened when Devens used his Diamond Power of Veto to save Dee and put Kamu up on the block this week. And, as evidenced by the first half of Thursday’s live eviction episode, the mayhem has only grown more intense in the last 48 hours, with new alliances already fracturing and the house vote completely up in the air.

Among the havoc chronicled during the broadcast: Kamu, in an effort to whip up votes for himself, revealed Dee’s bribe power to Mallory, who was annoyed that one of her own allies (albeit a new one) would have a power and wouldn’t divulge it to her; Yash also informed Mallory and Melody about Dee’s power, this time sprinkling in a little fib that Dee had asked Yash to nominate Mallory and Melody as part of her bribe (she hadn’t!); Yash suggested that Barrett may have been the one to rat out the conversation that was had in the HOH bedroom last week about targeting the icons (he was!); and Melody and Mallory wondered if tethering themselves to the icons at this stage in the game is really the smart move, when the icons are clearly everyone else’s target at the moment.

Whew. And that’s just what was aired on TV! If you follow the live feeds, you know some of these alliances are now hanging on by a thread, and Melody, Mallory, Drew, and Barrett haven’t been on the same page about whether or not Kamu should go. (Drew and Barrett have felt he absolutely should; Melody and Mallory haven’t been so sure.)

    Blockbuster and eviction results

Kamu evicted from Big Brother 28
    CBS

I have to confess: When I saw what the BB Blockbuster competition was, I assumed it was Kamu’s to lose. He, Haley, and Angela entered their own personal cylinders where colored balls were tossed every which way in the wind, and the winner would be the first person to put 10 red balls in one tube, 10 yellow balls in another tube, and hit their buzzer. It just seemed like a competition made for MMA fighter Kamu, with its required speed and accuracy… but Angela pulled off the upset! (And no one was more shocked about that than Angela, who didn’t hear her name called at first, then could only manage a string of “Oh my God!”s that took us into a commercial break.)

Once it was revealed to the other houseguests that Angela was coming off the block, Melody and Mallory seemed to give each other a quick signal at the couches that Kamu should get the boot, and it looked like Mallory quickly whispered that information to Taylor ahead of the vote. When all was said and done, Kamu was indeed evicted — or evacuated, as Dee accidentally put it — by a vote of eight to one, with only Lala attempting to keep him.

Kamu’s post-game Q&A with Julie Chen Moonves was as diplomatic and measured as ever: He loves when people make big moves, it stinks to be on the wrong side of them, you get the picture. Another confession: After he’d found a way to strategically pivot after that flipped Lyric vote, and even got Dee to reveal her power to him, I thought Kamu had this season’s win all locked up. Now that he’s out — before jury, no less! — the rest of the season feels refreshingly wide open.

How do you feel about Kamu’s eviction, “Big Brother” fans? And who would you like to see win Head of Household next? Drop all of your thoughts in a comment below!
