2006’s underrated drama thriller The Dead Girl is now available for streaming on Shout! Studios’ YouTube Channel. The star-studded cast was led by Girl, Interrupted star Brittany Murphy as Krista and Academy Award nominee Toni Collette as Arden.

What is Brittany Murphy & Toni Collette’s The Dead Girl movie about?
“In a quintet of stories, the murder of a young runaway (Murphy) connects a group of unrelated women. Lonely Arden (Collette) discovers the body; Leah, a forensics student, thinks the victim may be her long-missing sister. Melora arrives in Los Angeles to piece together the last days of her daughter’s life, while Ruth makes a disturbing discovery in the storage facility she and her husband manage,” reads the synopsis.
The Dead Girl was written and directed by Karen Moncrieff. Besides Murphy and Collette, the movie also starred Rose Byrne as Leah, Mary Beth Hurt as Ruth, Kerry Washington as Rosetta, James Franco as Derek, Giovanni Ribisi as Rudy, Josh Brolin as Tarlow, Mary Steenburgen as Leah’s mother and Piper Laurie as Arden’s mother. Since its debut in 2006, the movie has maintained its Certified Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes. It currently holds a Tomatometer rating of 75% based on 80 reviews.
The movie was produced by Eric Karten, Gary Lucchesi, Tom Rosenberg, Kevin Turen, Henry Winterstern, and Richard Wright. Executive producers were Terry A. McKay, Eric Reid, David Scott Rubin, and Temple Williams. The creative team was consist of director of photography Michael Grady, composer Adam Gorgoni, and editor Toby Yates.
