The MusicCares Persons of the Year award recognizes the band’s contributions to music as well as their philanthropic efforts and activism. This year’s event will double as a fundraiser for Los Angeles wildfire relief. (Ed. Note: Consequence has launched a special “All for LA” edition of our Protect Live Music t-shirts, where 100% of proceeds will go to MusiCares’ Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort.)
Past MusicCares Persons of the Year recipients have included Joni Mitchell, Dolly Parton, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, Lionel Richie, and and Jon Bon Jovi.
The Grateful Dead were also recently recognized as part of the 2024 Kennedy Center Honors.
