I often get asked what my favourite beauty brands are. As a beauty editor, it’s a difficult question to answer, as I’m lucky enough to get to try a lot of them for my job, from the most luxurious brands to up and coming launches. But, if I could only use one beauty brand for the rest of my life, it’s highly likely I’d choose Beauty Pie. The brand creates some of my all-time favourite skincare products, including the Triple Hyaluronic Acid Lipopeptide Serum (£24) and the Superdose Vitaminc C Serum (£17)—its skincare is truly elite and a mainstay in my bathroom cabinet. But the brand also boasts amazing makeup formulas, luxurious body care and expertly crafted hair care—not forgetting its amazing candles and fragrances too. It truly has all areas covered.
I often get asked if Beauty Pie is worth it, and I will usually say yes, especially if you’re a beauty fanatic with a penchant for luxurious formulas. You need to pay to be a member, (it works a bit like a beauty buyer’s club) however, this fee you access to member prices. You see, Beauty Pie works with many of the same labs are other leading beauty brands (creating equally great formulations as some luxury brands), but instead of paying unnecessary amounts for advertising, retailer overheads and so on, which are often layered into the final price of a beauty product. Beauty Pie cuts out the middlemen to bring you the innovation, directly from the labs and factories. While a typical luxury moisturiser might cost around the £100 mark, Beauty Pie’s might only set you back £15, for example.
I’m sometimes asked if Beauty Pie products are dupes of certain beauty products. The thing is, I would say that Beauty Pie’s products are good in their own right and don’t knock off other brands. Are the formulas, efficacy and results of Beauty Pie’s products comparable to other luxury beauty products out there? Yes, I would say so. Below, I’ve listed some of my favourite Beauty Pie products that are give good impressions of some expensive counterparts.
9 Beauty Pie Products That Are Dupes for Luxury Formulas
1. SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic Serum vs Beauty Pie Superdose Vitamin C C-Suite Serum
Beauty Pie
Superdose™ Vitamin C C-Suite Rapid Action Power Brightener
Ask any beauty journalist, dermatologist or skin expert about their favourite vitamin C serum and they are bound to say SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic serum. It’s a game-changer for evening skin tone, fading sun damage and imparting a healthy glow to the skin. But at £165, it’s an investment purchase. However, after I ran out of my SkinCeuticals, I switched to Beauty Pie’s Superdose Vitaminc C C-Suite serum and I was shocked at how effective it was, and it left my skin seriously glowy. I’m often asked about SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic serum dupes, and I have to say this tops the list. And the ingredients are very similar. You’ll find vitamin C and ferulic acid in Beauty Pie’s serum, as well as the addition of tranexamic acid to help brighten. Honestly, the results are so impressive.
2. Currentbody LED Light Therapy Face Mask vs Beauty Pie
Beauty Pie
C-Wave Light Facial Dual Light LED Treatment Mask
LED is huge right now, and I’m getting asked more about the best LED masks and if they’re really worth investing in. Some can cost upwards of £500, with many of the more affordable options still sitting around the £200-£300 mark, so they’re a considerable investment in your routine. I recently reviewed Beauty Pie’s LED mask (£120 for members) and saw a great improvement on my acne scarring, sun damage, redness and general complexion glowiness (the before and after pictures speak for themselves). It combines two light forms into one treatment: red light and near-infrared light. It has virtually the same specifications as the viral Currentbody LED mask, and features the same flexible silicone that wraps comfortably around the face. At £120, it’s a really good price point if you want a good LED mask that doesn’t have tonnes of settings, but works to plump wrinkles and boost skin clarity without breaking the bank.
3. Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand vs Beauty Pie Quick Colour Contour Supergel
Beauty Pie
Quick Colour Contour Supergel
Charlotte Tilbury’s wands have become a staple in many people’s makeup bags—they’re brilliant. But if you want a more affordable option, Beauty Pie’s has the same cushioned applicator that make contouring and chiselling so easy (and it also comes in three shades) while the sheer liquid gel formula is easy to blend and buff into the skin for a seamless finish. At just £13, you could get this and also pick up the matching Lumizing Highlighter Wand (£11) for the less than half the price of Charlotte Tilbury’s contouring wand.
4. The Face Illuminating Self-Tan Drops vs Beauty Pie Awesome Bronze Gradual Self-Tanning Drops
Beauty Pie
Awesome Bronze™ Gradual Self-Tanning Drops
So many of us at Who What Wear UK are fans of Tan-Luxe’s self-tanning drops, but at £36 it can be a little expensive when it comes to regular use. After trialling Beauty Pie’s gradual tanning drops, I can confirm they’re equally as great. I’ve found that they deliver a very subtle glow that is easily buildable, so they’re ideal if you’re very fair and don’t want anything too dark developing. It has a lightweight, watery serum texture that doesn’t feel heavy or greasy when mixed with your skincare. You can also apply it neat onto the skin if you require a deeper glow, which you can easily maintain by applying a couple of times a week.
5. Milk Makeup Cooling Water Jelly Tint vs Jelly Lip & Cheek Shot
Beauty Pie
Jelly Lip & Cheek Shot
Milk Makeup’s TikTok-viral Cooling Water Jelly Tints are one of the most iconic beauty launches of the year thanks to their wobbly jelly texture that leaves a pretty stained flush on cheeks. But, if you want to get onto the jelly trend without breaking the bank, Beauty Pie’s Jelly Lip & Cheek Shot will give the same effect for a little less. The pot houses a raspberry-toned jelly, which you can pat onto lips and cheeks for a long-lasting stain. It does only come in one shade for now, but it’s universally flattering on all skin tones, looking vibrant on fair skin and more berry-toned on deeper complexions.
6. Bobbi Brown Creamy Corrector vs Beauty Pie Superluminous™ Under-Eye Genius
Beauty Pie
Superluminous™ Under-Eye Genius
For so long, Bobbi Brown’s under eye corrector was the only thing that could effectively disguise my dark circles, but I was also impressed when I reviewed Beauty Pie’s Superluminous Under Eye Genius. It comes in three shades depending on the undertones of your under eyes, and it basically makes dark circles disappear. The creamy texture melts into the skin, leaving behind a radiant finish that makes a great primer for concealer, but in all honesty you might find it good enough on its own to brighten the under eye. I like to pat it in with a fingertip to effortlessly melt it into the skin before going in with a touch of concealer. I actually end up using less concealer generally because this does such a great job.
7. Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Melting Blush vs Beauty Pie Supercheek Cream Blush
Beauty Pie
Supercheek™ Cream Blush
Trust me. If you only try one thing from this story, make it Beauty Pie’s Supercheek Cream Blush. These little blush pots house the prettiest blush in a cream texture that melts into the cheeks for a glassy, glowing-from-within kind of glow. They are so silky and melt right into the skin, and remind me a lot of Rare Beauty’s Melting Blushers. They come in several diverse shades to flatter every skin tone, and while dewy, they aren’t glitzy or overly dewy. Rather, they bring a healthy pop of colour to cheeks and lips. They’re seriously underrated.
8. Byredo Cotton Poplin Candle vs Beauty Pie Clean House Candle
Beauty Pie
Clean House Luxury Scented Candle
Imagine you’ve cleaned your home from top to bottom and your last load of laundry has finished air-drying in the sunshine—that’s exactly how this Beauty Pie candle smells. Candles at this price-point usually make me suspicious; not all of them have a great throw. But this one filled my flat and I could still detect the scent the next day. It truly smells so great and is such a fitting candle to light as a reward when you’ve ticked off everything on your list of chores. Expect a clean and cosy mix of lavender, freesia and magnolia tumbled with freshly laundered bedding and a hint of musk. I’d liken it to Byredo’s Cotton Poplin for that clean-linen scent on a budget.
9. Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream vs
Beauty Pie
Shinkai Electrolyte Drench 3-In-1 Deep Hydrating Gel Cream
Tatcha’s moisturiser has a special place in my heart. It’s loved by makeup artists, celebrities and editors alike—it’s iconic. While nothing will ever beat the OG, I do, however, love a bargain. Beauty Pie’s Shinkai moisturiser reminds me of the luxurious melting texture of Tatcha’s moisturisers, but at a more affordable price tag. I recently put a friend onto Beauty Pie’s moisturiser and has since bought another jar after telling me how great it is. The lightweight gel texture instantly sinks in and floods the skin with moisture without being greasy or at all heavy. It’s the perfect moisturiser for those with oily or combination skin types that won’t clog pores.
