Whelp, it finally happened. I guess the hubris of going around believing that maybe I was simply immune to Covid caught up with me since I finally got Covid.
It wasn’t terrible, but still the overall experience was that it sucked, especially now that the weather is nicer but I’ve been stuck inside.
It also could not have come at a worse time. I had busy schedule of things planned the past week or so, partially because of my birthday and partially because I’m going out of town soon and partially for various other reasons, plus I had a doctor’s appointment that I’d waited a month and a half for and a bunch of stuff I’d really been looking forward to — but all of that got very quickly tossed out the window.
One thing I was pretty blasé about skipping but now I feel kind of sad about was that my friend threw her senior dog Leo an elaborate “sweet sixteen” party which I had to miss, and yesterday we found out Leo suddenly passed away.
There’s also a bunch of new summer releases out, and so it looks like I’m going to be playing catch up on reading for a while.
Instead, my schedule of things to do each day has looked something like this:
1. Sleep
2. Check temperature
3. Drink chicken soup
4. Sleep
5. Briefly read funny stories about how terrible the cybertruck is.
6. Sleep
7. Take temperature again
8. Drink more chicken soup
9. FOMO about not getting to do anything
10. Sleep
Anyhow, I’m mostly better though still a little on the mend, but once I’m healed up I’m hoping to get into some of these summer romances that are on my reading list. If you want to follow along, here are a few of the titles I’ve been eyeing, most of which are new releases:
