The series is based on Tony Hillerman’s “Leaphorn & Chee” novel series. The first season was adapted from “Listening Woman,” which was released in 1978, while season 2 is inspired by “People of Darkness,” which arrived in 1980.
Set in the 1970s, Season 2 brings back Lt. Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee for a different case as they chase after a killer in the high desert of Navajo Country. It stars Zahn McClarnon as Lt. Joe Leaphorn, Kiowa Gordon as Jim Chee, Jessica Matten as Bernadette Manuelito, and Nicholas Logan as Colton Wolf.
The official synopsis for the series reads:
“Lt. Joe Leaphorn reunites with Jim Chee, his former deputy turned private eye, when their separate cases bring them together in pursuit of the same suspect. They find themselves in the high desert of Navajo Country chasing a killer who’s turned his sights on them to protect a secret that rips open old wounds and challenges Leaphorn’s moral and professional code. With the help of Sgt.
