What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Luke’s Touch?
Luke is a new-ish member to my Walker Security World. It’s a world I’ve been writing for over 10 years now and it has my heart, and the heart of my readers. So when I first introduced Luke/Lucifer to my readers, I fell in love with him and so did they. I was so excited to share his story and more of his background and his relationship with Ana. I just hope my readers have fallen even more in love with him along the way, like I have!
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Luke’s Touch, what would they be?
Love Me or Leave Me Alone by Dustin Lynch.
What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
I write both romances and mystery/thrillers, however, I tend to gravitate toward mystery/thrillers when reading/listening for fun, but I do read romances from time to time, too! Mystery/thrillers are just something both me and my husband enjoy so we typically buddy listen to audiobooks
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
Oh boy, that’s a loaded question! I’ve actually been so busy this month I haven’t had time to read/listen at all or even look at what has come out, but I just met my deadline so I’m going to dust off my Audible app and see what’s next to be listened to!
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
There is this scene right before Luke and Ana have to leave one of their safehouses where they finally deal with some of their past. And them confronting that past was highly emotional, and passionate, and a million other emotions. It was one of the obstacles I was fearing having to cross, but it came together so naturally for these two, and I just hope readers find that warm-fuzzy feeling that I found at the end of that scene.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
I typically write in bed, which I know some authors are very against and I can absolutely see why, BUT my bed comes with four furbabies (2 cats and 2 dogs), and I love having them nearby when I write. Also COFFEE! I go through an obscene amount of coffee
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
Everything happens for a reason. Though that can be hard to believe at times, but in a big picture sense, I do like to fall back on that quote.
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
I want readers to remember that they deserve the best life can offer, but you have to actually take the offer when it’s presented. Luke and Ana had an unimaginable parting two years ago, but life threw them back together and they weren’t letting go of each other for anything. So go after what you want, and don’t be afraid to be vulnerable in order to be happy.
